Ocean net primary productivity (NPP) standard data products downloaded from Ocean Productivity database, Oregon State University
Mean December NPP value calculated for the years 2003 to 2007 inclusive. Standard data products are based on the original description of the Vertically Generalized Production Model (VGPM) (Behrenfeld and Falkowski, 1997), MODIS surface chlorophyll concentrations (Chlsat), MODIS SST data, and SeaWiFS cloud-corrected incident daily photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Euphotic depths are calculated from Chlsat following Morel and Berthon (1989).
